Oktoberfest is undoubtedly the world’s greatest beer as well as fun- traveling festival, also known as Volksfest. Originally a part of German celebrations and traditions, Oktoberfest is held every year in the city of Blumenau in Santa Catarina, Brazil. It is the most relevant German festival celebrated in America and it is one of the world’s greatest Oktoberfest celebrations along with the Oktoberfest held in Munich, Germany every year.
The Oktoberfest of Blumenau was conceived in the year 1984 for the purpose of raising the morale of its inhabitants as well as for providing much- needed boost to its economy. Not only this, businessmen and owners of industries in Blumenau were already planning to celebrate a festival replicating the Oktoberfest of Munich. With more than 700,000 people taking part in each year’s Oktoberfest celebrations, there are folk dance performances, German cuisine, German music as well as shooting machines which are a major part of the festivities taking place during the Oktoberfest.
